So we’ve talked about making vegetables and meats more fun when on a weight loss journey in our blog here by adding your favourite concoction of herbs and spices, but there’s another way! Marinades! Marinades are such a simple way to add SO much flavour and are super simple, just how we like it! Here are our top 5 calorie friendly marinades for you to experiment with! 

Flavourful Marinades

Ingredients

The Staple Marinade! 

  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Crack of salt and Pepper

Fresh and Light Marinade Delight

  • 1/2 Lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • Fresh Dill
  • Salt + Pepper

A perfect Salmon Pairing

  • 1/4 cup Tamari
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Garlic
  • Optional: Srirarcha

Lebanese Style Marinade

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp Greek Yoghurt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin

A Veggie Marinade!

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Freshly chopped parsley 

Method

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl
